About Direct Expert

Direct Expert is an independent online platform operated by Virtual Admin UK. The platform has been developed to enable solicitors to identify, compare and contact medico-legal experts directly.

Direct Expert is not a medical agency and does not provide medico-legal reports, legal advice or medical advice. Our role is to provide an online platform that connects solicitors with appropriately qualified medico-legal experts.

Experts choosing the Managed Profile service receive separate practice management services provided by Virtual Admin UK under an independent agreement. Those services are not governed by these Website Terms & Conditions.

Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions:

"Direct Expert" means the website operated by Virtual Admin UK.

"Expert" means any medical professional listed on the Direct Expert platform.

"Solicitor" means any legal professional or organisation using the platform to identify or contact an expert.

"User" means any person accessing or using the website.

"Managed Profile" means an expert profile supported by Virtual Admin UK under a separate Practice Management Agreement.

Use of the Website

This website is intended for use by solicitors, legal professionals, medico-legal experts and other professional users seeking information about medico-legal experts.

Users agree to use the website lawfully and in a manner that does not interfere with its operation or the use of the website by others.

Users must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website, introduce malicious software or use the website for any unlawful purpose.

Expert Profiles

Expert profiles are created using information provided and approved by the individual expert.

Whilst Direct Expert takes reasonable care in presenting information accurately, responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and currency of profile information remains with the expert concerned.

Experts may request amendments to their profile at any time by contacting Direct Expert.

Direct Expert reserves the right to edit, suspend or remove any profile where it reasonably believes the information is inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, unlawful or no longer consistent with the purpose or reputation of the platform.

Basic, Advanced and Managed Profiles

Direct Expert currently offers three profile options:

Basic Profile – a complimentary listing providing essential professional information.

Advanced Profile – an enhanced profile containing additional professional information designed to assist solicitors when selecting an expert.

Managed Profile – a comprehensive practice management service provided through Virtual Admin UK under a separate agreement.

The services provided under each profile are subject to change from time to time. Any changes will not affect existing contractual arrangements unless agreed between the parties.

Profile Fees and Renewals

Basic Profiles are provided without charge.

Advanced Profiles are subject to the published annual subscription fee.

Managed Profiles are individually priced and governed by a separate agreement between the expert and Virtual Admin UK.

Annual subscriptions for Advanced Profiles must be renewed before the renewal date to maintain the enhanced listing.

Where an Advanced Profile subscription is not renewed, Direct Expert reserves the right to downgrade the profile to a Basic Profile without further notice.

Responsibilities of Experts

Experts are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted for publication is accurate, truthful and up to date.

Experts warrant that they are entitled to provide the information submitted and that publication of such information will not infringe the rights of any third party.

Experts remain solely responsible for the professional opinions they provide, the reports they prepare and any services they offer to instructing solicitors.

Listing on Direct Expert does not constitute endorsement, accreditation or recommendation by Direct Expert or Virtual Admin UK.

Responsibilities of Solicitors

Solicitors remain responsible for satisfying themselves that an expert is suitable for the intended instruction.

Direct Expert provides information to assist in identifying potential experts but does not recommend, rank or endorse individual experts.

Any decision to instruct an expert remains entirely the responsibility of the instructing solicitor or organisation.

Direct Instructions

Direct Expert provides a platform that enables solicitors to identify and contact medico-legal experts directly.

Direct Expert is not a party to any agreement, contract or arrangement entered into between a solicitor and an expert.

Any instruction accepted by an expert, together with any fees, terms of engagement, reports, correspondence or professional services arising from that instruction, shall be solely between the instructing solicitor and the expert.

Direct Expert accepts no responsibility for any dispute, claim, loss or liability arising from any instruction or professional relationship established through the platform.

Managed Profile Services

Experts who subscribe to the Managed Profile service will enter into a separate agreement with Virtual Admin UK.

The provision of practice management services, including but not limited to enquiry handling, appointment booking, diary management, report administration, invoicing and telephone support, is governed exclusively by that separate agreement.

Nothing within these Website Terms & Conditions forms part of, or replaces, the Practice Management Agreement.
