About
Miss Reena Agarwal is a Consultant Plastic, Burns and Hand Surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, where she has been a Consultant since 2011. She has extensive experience in the assessment and management of both adult and paediatric patients with a wide range of plastic surgical conditions.
Her specialist interests include hand injuries, burns, scar management, reconstructive plastic surgery, traumatic soft tissue injuries and skin cancer. She undertakes medico-legal work relating to Personal Injury and is actively involved in surgical education, research and national leadership within plastic surgery.
Alongside her NHS Consultant practice, Miss Agarwal holds a number of national leadership and educational roles, including Honorary Secretary of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester, Regional Training Programme Director for Plastic Surgery (East Midlands), and Chair of the Specialist Training Committee for Plastic Surgery (East Midlands).

Miss Agarwal has published extensively in the fields of plastic surgery, burns, hand surgery and scar management. Her work has been published in respected peer-reviewed journals, and she remains actively involved in surgical education, research and national leadership within plastic surgery.
Clinical & Medico-Legal Expertise
Miss Agarwal commenced medico-legal practice in March 2024 and prepares independent expert reports for Personal Injury matters, including injuries arising from road traffic accidents, accidents at work and other traumatic incidents.
She accepts instructions involving adult and paediatric patients requiring expert opinion on burns, hand injuries, scar assessment, traumatic wounds and soft tissue injuries, wound management and general plastic surgical injuries.
To date, Miss Agarwal has completed over 50 medico-legal reports and has successfully completed Bond Solon's Excellence in Report Writing (Written Evidence) course. She is familiar with her duties and responsibilities as an expert witness under CPR Part 35 and Practice Direction 35.
Miss Agarwal currently undertakes medico-legal instructions in Personal Injury matters.

Turn Around Times
Miss Agarwal aims to provide reports promptly and efficiently. Typical report turnaround is 6–10 weeks, depending upon appointment availability and the complexity of the instruction.
Payment Terms
Our standard payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice. However, we understand the funding structures within medico-legal work and are able to agree extended payment arrangements, where appropriate, subject to written agreement at the point of instruction and internal compliance checks. Extended arrangements may be agreed for up to 36 months depending on the nature of the matter and the instructing firm.
