Professor Karen Saunders is a Consultant Neurological Physiotherapist with over 25 years' clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation. She provides independent medico-legal reports regarding Condition and Prognosis for claimant and defendant solicitors in personal injury and clinical negligence matters.

Her specialist expertise includes: acquired and traumatic brain injury, Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness, Stroke, spinal injury, polytrauma and complex neurological disability and neurorehabilitation.

Professor Saunders is registered with the HCPC and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and has completed specialist medico-legal expert witness training and continuously participates in training sessions to maintain up to date awareness of expert legal requirements. Alongside her clinical and medico-legal practice, she has extensive clinical research experience (6 completed trials); teaching experience and is preparing to submit her PhD thesis on Traumatic Brain Injury
